Frequently asked questions
Answers for anyone considering treatment. If anything remains unclear, you can always ask me.
I do not know whether I need 0.7 ml or 1 ml. How do I choose?
You do not need to know in advance. Before treatment we will discuss your starting point, wishes and the result that best suits your face. I will then recommend a suitable amount.
Does lip filler hurt?
Lips are sensitive, so you may feel the treatment. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to reduce discomfort. The filler I use also contains lidocaine, which numbs the area during the procedure.
How long are lips swollen after treatment?
Swelling is common, especially during the first few days. Mild bruising, tenderness and temporary asymmetry may also occur. Allow the lips time to settle before judging the final result.
When will I see the final result?
Swelling makes the lips look different immediately after treatment. The final result can usually be assessed after about 2–4 weeks, once swelling has subsided and the lips have healed.
How long does lip filler last?
Longevity varies. Hyaluronic acid lip filler usually lasts around 6–12 months, although it can remain longer for some people. Metabolism, product, amount used and previous treatments all affect duration.
What if I only want a very natural change?
That is absolutely possible. Lip enhancement does not have to mean a noticeable increase in size. It can subtly define the shape, balance proportions or add a little softness and fullness.
When should lip filler treatment not be performed?
Suitability is always assessed individually. Before treatment you will complete a medical history form covering your health, medication, previous treatments and possible contraindications.

Can I have treatment if I have a cold sore?
Treatment is not performed during an active cold sore. If you are prone to recurring cold sores, tell me beforehand so this can be considered in advance.
Are there risks with filler treatment?
Yes. Like all injectable treatments, fillers carry possible side effects and complications.
I want you to understand both common temporary reactions and rarer complications. We will review the risks and aftercare before the procedure so you can make an informed decision.
What if I am not yet sure I want treatment?
That is completely fine. You can contact me while you are still considering treatment. You do not need a finished plan—we can first discuss your wishes and what may suit you.
